Ryszard Błażej, PhD
Assistant professor at Machine Systems Division at Wroclaw University of Technology, Faculty of Geoengineering, Mining and Geology. Graduated from the Faculty of Geoengineering, Mining and Geology. In 2001 he defended his doctoral thesis titled: “The influence of the mechanical properties of the core of rubber fabric conveyor belt on splice strength.” He has cooperated for 20 years with Belt Conveying Laboratory (LTT), where he has been involved in researching belts and splices.
He has specialized for 10 years in conveyor belt non-invasive diagnostics. He is the manager of two research projects: “Intelligent system for automatic inspection and continuous diagnostics of conveyor belt condition” and “Complex method of conveyor belt wear degree estimation and its application in developing a rational belt replacement strategy.” His achievements were frequently recognized by the Wroclaw Board of Polish Federation of Engineering Associations, which awarded him with first degree prize inter alia for “Designing, building and launching a high-resolution automatic system for steel-cord core belt diagnostics at brown coal mine Turów in Bogatynia, division of PGE GiEK S.A., according to the manual prepared by the Institute of Mining Engineering, Wroclaw University of Technology” and for “Designing, building and launching of a high-resolution automatic system for steel-cord core belt diagnostics at brown coal mine Turów in Bogatynia, division of PGE GiEK S.A.”
